Mexico and California.
It is the more used in Spain after the Phoenix Canariensis. Their leaves are palm shaped of up to 2 m. The trunk is slender and thin of until 25 m height.
It prefers coastal areas, it resists well up to 6º degrees under zero although in places of the interior it has supported inferior temperatures. It behaves very well with the heat. It thanks the watering but also adapts to the dry lands. It is the ideal palm to form groups, isolated feet and in alignments.
